Suscinio, the Dukes of Brittany's estate, is home to a monumental castle whose construction dates back to the 13th century. This jewel of medieval architecture welcomes you all year round for visits, shows, walks and fun activities. The interior of the château de Suscinio is currently presented in its 15th century configuration, i.e. with the furnishings of a residence from that period. The tour takes you through the banqueting hall, the ducal bedroom, the duchess’s wardrobe, the steam rooms and the captains’ room decorated with models of the fortress.

As an extension of your visit to the château, push open the door of the west dwelling (access is included in the price of the ticket). There, an original scenography will immerse you in the tales and myths of Brittany. Against a backdrop of Arthurian legends, light shows and slide shows will enable you to learn more about the oral traditions linked to the quest for the Grail.
The Domaine de Suscinio is as much a delight to history buffs as to walkers. Explore the many signposted paths in the park, such as the meadow path (one kilometre long), the birdwatching trail (1.9 kilometres in the western lagoon), the marshland nature trail (2 kilometres) and the “landscape” trail (3 kilometres of walking in the heart of the marshes). For animal lovers, the Domaine de Suscinio team offers a sensory activity in the company of the estate’s park keeper. Thanks to this activity, you will learn all about the goats and donkeys of the park, their way of life and the use of their wool (and hair) since the Middle Ages.

Once your visit is over, don’t go back to the campsite straight away! At nightfall, the Domaine de Suscinio comes to life in a fairy tale of special effects, light shows and multicoloured projections. This night-time show recounts eight centuries of historical events and Breton legends in an extraordinary setting, just a few steps from the sea.
